We’；d like to welcome back Charlotte， the creative DIYer behind the blog Ciburbanity.？ Many moons ago， Charlotte and her husband were young homeowners with one Ikea coffee table， a milk crate and a mattress.？ In an attempt to fill their new home， she visited a local furniture consignment shop and fell in love with this beat up brown bench.
A cute piece with lots of potential， especially with this DIYer!？ At first the bench was placed in her dining room and then moved to the foyer but it just didn’；t seem to work well in those spaces.？ Finally it was moved to her bedroom.？ While it didn’；t match， it turned out to be very useful in the bedroom.？ Charlotte decided to give the bench a modern makeover and spray paint it lemongrass yellow to match her bedding.？ Next it needed a new cushion.？ Charlotte is a big fan of DIY drop cloth upholstery so she decided to test it out.？ She already had our Rabat Allover Stencil on hand from a previous project.？ Rather than taping the design to the drop cloth and painting the pattern， she traced the stencil onto the canvas.
Then she painted it in by hand using Benjamin Moore bath salts 624.
After the stencil was complete， Charlotte wrapped the stenciled fabric around the seat of the bench and attached it with a staple gun.
Charlotte finished off the bench by taking a white paint pen and outlining the Moroccan pattern.
Once the bench was complete， she placed it in her bedroom. Presto chango， bet you would never guess this was the same thrift store find!
It looks gorgeous， doesn’；t it？
Looking for more stencil fun？
Thanks for reading， and happy stenciling!Michelle and the Cutting Edge Stencils Crew
